Main features:
The nanoparticles of bismuth have demonstrated similar antimicrobial properties to silver and copper nanoparticles. Moreover, this material is less expensive. As bismuth is currently less researched than silver and copper its properties have found lesser applications globally, however, its potential shall be used fully in the future.
Its 100% antimicrobial efficacy and prolonged effect have been proved by the numerous tests.
Current recommended applications: manufacture of rubber-plastic materials and products with antibacterial properties, escalator belts, push buttons, parts of refrigerating chambers, seals with antifungal properties, parts of equipment, manufacture of paints (water- and oil based ones) and coatings with long-term antimicrobial effect, etc.
